Lecture

William Tyler
New, but Old Middle East

Monday 22.06.2026

How to watch

This lecture starts on 22 June at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

In this lecture, rather than cover ground familiar to many of us by tracing the story of the Middle East from 1918 to the present day, we take themes such as religions, invasions, and empires in order to provide, I hope, new insights into the history of the region. Let’s discover where this takes us.
