Professor David Peimer
Salman Rushdie: The Remarkable Story of His Life and Work
How to watch
Summary
Rushdie’s work combines magic realism and historical fiction as he gazes searingly into Western and Eastern civilizations. Throughout history, writers have been killed by dictators or states. The power of fictional worlds and words, stories and characters, thrill as much as threaten. Rushdie’s remarkable life and work mirror our modern times because he dares to speak his mind in an era when that spirit is under siege again.
