The Great Myths and Legends of India

Saturday 21.06.2025

How to watch

This lecture starts on 21 June at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

The vast culture of India gave birth to many ancient and fascinating myths and legends. In this expansive lecture we explore some of the greatest tales ever told and the remarkable energy of the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and, briefly, the stories of Krishna, Buddha, and Shiva. Hinduism is often cited as the oldest religion–was Aristotle right when he claimed that Judaism was derived from the Indian philosophers?
