William Tyler
East India Company
How to watch
Summary
The East India Company grew beyond its natural parameters, becoming not just a trading company but one that ruled large swaths of India up until the Mutiny of 1857. The reputation of its employees became synonymous with greed and corruption. It was about as far removed from the high ideals of the later Raj as could be imagined. A story to tell indeed!
