Summary
The blockbuster exhibition at the Orsay over the winter of 2024–5 is devoted to the “lost impressionist” Gustave Caillebotte (1848–1894). Long dismissed as an amateur, Caillebotte has been reassessed in recent decades and is valued by historians and loved by the wider world for his highly original view of the early modern world.
