Summary

This memorial presentation will look back at the remarkable life of Yehuda Bauer, the great teacher, historian, and author of over 40 books, who revolutionised thinking about the Holocaust. A public intellectual and a master of many languages, he once proposed to the German parliament adding three commandments to the original ten: “thou shalt not be a perpetrator; thou shalt not be a victim; and thou shalt never, but never, be a bystander.”
